This week is going really slowly. I don't know why, since school is already in the 4th week of 15, but...yeah, Wednesday seems to be crawling. Wish there was something more entertaining to talk about but...
Wesley Clark seems like a good place to start, since he threw his hat in now as the 10th candidate. Aside from the circus aspect and the clear fractioning of the Democratic party, I'm not sure what to make of him. His late entry gives him a huge hurdle to get over, and the fact that he is going the president and not VP route means he may allienate some of his opponets, costing himself (and the whole party) a nomination of any sort. But then I look at the military background, the anti-Bush stance, the basic liberal values, the Southern upbringing...and I can't help but get excited and start drooling over the idea of President Clark. I'm still in the Dean camp, if only for the strong momentum, but I'm not opposed to Clark at this point.
This article in Time pretty much sums up the anti-Bush position of most Democrats I think:
"Sure, the aftermath of the Iraq war has made it easier to frontally attack Bush. But the loathing long predates it. It started in Florida and has been deepening ever since Bush seized the post-9/11 moment to change the direction of the country and make himself a President of note."
Talking out of both sides of their mouth:
Rumsfeld Sees No Link Between Iraq, 9/11
Cheney won't discredit Sadaam/9-11 link.
What the hell? Which one is it guys?
By the same token: Nobody Died when Clinton Lied
I swear I'm not making this next headline up: Ashcroft Mocks Librarians and Others Who Oppose Parts of Counterterrorism Law. Real nice John, real nice.
Anyways, moving on...my Powerbook is now obsolete. Granted, it's only going from a 1Ghz to a 1.25Ghz, but still. Not that I'm complaining of course, I love my Mac and the speed is MORE than enough.
And for some humor to end the post, a list of the Worst Jobs in Science. You can probably guess a few, but others are mighty creative. Hehe.
